Sunday Postcard Art

This week the theme is boats, and I decided to make a mixed media piece.

To make the background I painted some green paint onto watercolour paper and when it was dry swiped some patches of Vaseline over it. Another layer of paint, this time light blue. When dry I wiped the surface with a paper towel, removing the top layer of paint where the Vaseline was, to reveal the green paint underneath.

N.B. Watch this space next week as I shall actually be hosting Sunday Postcard Art. I am so excited and so honoured to be asked. Can't wait!

Beautiful card Jackie. I never thought of Vaseline as an art medium, but it worked to great effect here.
