You are worth it!

This grungy, painty piece is actually digital (in case you can't tell!).

Change is good

I created this page using Dylusions spray inks and stamping onto top. The red circles are acrylic paint and I used various pens to add the script, doodles and highlights.

If ...

The next installment of my 'My true and the questions' journal.

The next two pages were inspired by a big new campaign that has started, 'IF' (type 'if' into your search engine if you want to know more). The world produces enough food to feed everyone if...

The double spread.

The love of stencils

This is another page from my gigantic journal. I started by pasting on the black and white image of the face. Then I used my stencils and acrylic paint to add lots of patterns around it. I did this several times with different stencils and colours. I then applied a wash over the face to give it some colour. Then came several layers of spray paint followed by more layers of oil pastels. To finish I coloured her facial details and added the last little details, i.e. the washi tape, stones, letters and the rose to her cheek .

Cards

Here are three cards I made using a kit from Kanban. I'm not so keen on the first one, but thought I'd show it any way! Apologies, the pictures are not as good as they could be. I had trouble photographing the cards for some reason.

Collage cards

I made these cards using scraps of paper left over from other projects and a few bits of tissue and washi tape. Simple and yet effective.

Smitten - a tag

This started as a black tag. I then squirted out too much white acrylic paint and so it became a white tag! I used Distress Stains to colour it and added the red acrylic paint through a stencil. I also added some red paint to the matches and then attached them to the side. Lastly, came the vellum, washi tape, heart and the word 'smitten'.

Stencilled tag

Most of the layers on this tag are spray paint, but the chevrons and the tiny dots are acrylic, as are the three white blobs.

My gigantic journal

Here is the second page of my A3 art journal. (The observant of you will notice the binding rings are on the wrong side. That's because I accidentally created it upside down!)

New journal

A little while ago I spotted a book by Sabrina Ward Harrison called 'The True and the Questions Journal'.

It's a book that encourages the reader to use it to make an illustrated journal of their own. This intrigued me and I bought it, once home though it took a long time to start as I had to get over the feeling of spoiling the printed pages.

I haven't necessarily started at the beginning, but here are some of the pages I have altered.

I forgot to mention yesterday that the page I posted was the last page in my square journal. Here's a snap of some pages from the finished journal.

The hope of spring

The background on this journal page is rather dark, probably inspired by all the dark grey days we have been having. Hopefully, though, the flowers remind us of the promise of Spring.

A new year journal page

Whilst away in the summer I found a shop that sold A3 notebooks with good quality paper. It seemed a good idea at the time, but once home the size seemed rather daunting. A new year, however, seemed the right time to get it out again and start filling it up. So here is the first page completed. My husband's comment when he saw it was "it's enormous!". Hopefully, I've used the space well.
