Scrap Squares 6

Well here are my last batch of Scrap Squares, at least for the moment. I hope you have enjoyed seeing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

My Documented Life - week 34

The prompt for this week was about layering, whilst still thinking about faces and/or the human form. You can see that there are far more layers on the page on the right. I copied a photo of me when I was about 11 years old and then used one of the current me on the opposite side. I nearly didn't show this spread but, hey, I am not going to produce work that I like all of the time!!

My Documented Life - week 33

The challenge for week 33 was about painting faces/figures. I loved watching Mystele, the guest artist work her magic and tried to emulate her. Here are my two pages:

Scrap Squares

I was recently inspired by a blog post by one of my blogger friends, Johanna. She posted a link to a project she carried out a few years back. She decorated 10 x 10cm squares from scraps. Here is the link to her 'Scrap Squares’ blog.

I decided to make a few of my own, using scraps and bits & pieces I have lying around and don't tend to use. I ended up with 18, so I will post three at a time.

My Documented Life - week 32

The challenge for last week was 'characters', with the prompt 'if you are going to be weird, be confident about it' (author unknown).

Inspired by Carla Sondheim, the guest designer, I did some finger paintings. I am quite pleased with how these two folk turned out.

My Documented Life - week 31

The new theme for August is 'faces, the human form and characters' and the prompt for the first week is 'expressive faces'. I'm not sure mine are that expressive, but here they are.

Having created the background, for the face on the left-hand side, following Roben-Marie Smith's lead, I used some of her pieces: one eye, the nose and the mouth. I then filled in the rest of the face and added the arches and collage. On the right-hand side, I used similar techniques, but painted the face from scratch.

My Documented Life - week 30

I have been away and so am a little behind. Here is my spread for week 30; the prompt was 'Real life'. My ephemera (the theme for July) is actually the first layer - two Gelli plate prints using a Traci Bautista stencil. I then added layers of acrylic paint and some doodling.

Just breathe

This journal page is a spin-off from week 22 of my DLP journal. I liked the colours and using parts of a doilly so I thought I would have another go!

Cards

I was looking at the PaperArtsy blog and I saw a card made by Anneke de Clerck using the circles set of stamps. It was so simple and yet so striking I decided to make some similar ones. I have not yet added a message so that I have a choice about what occasion to use them for. Here they are.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my sister's birthday and this is the card I made for her. It is A4 in size. The stamps are from PaperArtsy and are painted with Fresco paints.

A Strong, Colourful Lady!

This time, the face in my journal is made up of rainbow of colours.
