My Documented Life - weeks 52 & 53

The prompt for week 52 was to write about a family tradition. As it was Christmas week I used lots of gold paint. Hope you can see past the shine!

As there was a bit of a week left over, the Art to the 5th girls gave an extra prompt, to decorate the page with something that begins with the first letter of your name.

I really enjoyed creating this journal and am planning to continue for this new year.

My Documented Life - weeks 50 & 51

Week 50 was about a fantasy holiday place. I chose the Alhambra & Generalife - the fantasy would be to have it all to myself!!

The prompt for week 51 was to use arrows on the page.

The theme for week 48 was gratitude and the prompt for week 49 was to trace a hand onto your page. As I was playing catch-up, I got them the wrong way around!

The instruction for week 45 was to add a tab to the page.

 For week 46, the prompt was to incorporate fabric into the page.

 The prompt for week 47 was to add a map to the page and document something about it.

My Documented Life - week 44

The prompt for week 44 was to 'incorporate leaves onto your page in a creative way'. I used real leaves and painted them. They may not last the course, as they are quite brittle now, but I like how they look.

My Documented Life - week 43

I'm playing catch up again! The prompt for week 43 was to 'sketch what you see right now'. Well in our house I am surrounded by books.... I didn't attempt to sketch them, but took a sketch-like picture on my phone and then added the book wrapping paper.

The prompt for week 41 was 'polka dots'. I'm not sure whether my dots count as polka dots, but with a jot of creative license ...

My Documented Life - week 40

The instructions for week 40 were to 'paint or colour with three colours you never use'. I found this quite hard as I use most colours in my work, but I went for brown, blue and purple. I don't tend to use brown much and blue and purple are my least favoutrite colours. Nevertheless, I am pleased with how the pages turned out.

It is getting quite hard to photograph my journal now. It is so fat the pages don't sit flat anymore!

The prompt for week 38 was to 'draw, paint, doodle, sketch or incorporate a real feather onto your page'.

The instructions for week 35 was to 'draw, sketch, paint, doodle a face or cut or alter one from a book or magazine'. Well, you can see what I decided to do!

For this page we had to 'fill the page with numbers that relate to your week'. Well, that week I  was on holiday in Yorkshire. I haven't exactly filled the page with numbers but they and the pictures all relate to my holiday. Happy memories!

The challenge for week 33 was to 'use your under paper in a creative way' i.e. using the paper that covers your table to protect it from paint etc. I tore it into strips to separate my days on the right-hand page and glued a random bit down the left-hand page.

Can you tell I'm very behind! The prompt for week 32 was 'incorporate a fortune cookie fortune'. I have one somewhere that I kept from a meal out ages ago. Could I find it, NO! So I made my own ...

My Documented Life - week 31

The theme for this week was 'add a pocket and fill it full of your week's treasure'. Well that was easy! I went to a wedding of a friend of mine and so the pocket is filled with memorabilia from the wedding. The pocket is made from the packaging of a Pam Carriker stamp. Let's not say I waste anything!

The prompt for week thirty was to 'add receipts, labels, business cards - smash books style'. Well I'm still not entirely clear what a smash book is (perhaps it's an American term?), but here's my interpretation.

The prompt for week 29 was to make a wish list - draw pictures or cut images from magazines. I didn't entirely follow this prompt, but this is how my pages ended up.
