Another journal page

I made both this page and the one I posted yesterday by first wetting the page and then adding spray inks. When they were dry I stamped on the script and then applied the yellow/gold acrylic paint through a stencil. I used a foam stamp to print the stars and bottle tops to create the circles. I outlined all of these with either white or black pen and then added the strips of decorative tape (Tim Holtz) and lastly the words. Done!

The backgrounds of the page and the tag were created with Portfolio Pastels. I then added various types of tape and some scraps of wrapping paper before sticking the tag onto the page and adding the journalling.

Green ...

... is the theme from Take a Word this week.

I created this with one of my own background. The palace and clouds are by Tangie Baxter (at SBG) and the woman by Tumblefish (at deviant Scrap), and I added these digitally.

Flower journal pages

Susi pointed me in the direction of the Art Journal Journey challenge, which happens monthly. As you have probably already guessed, the theme for March is flowers.

I created these pages by spraying them with water. I then sprayed each ink, one at a time, onto one page and then shutting it onto the other. I then sprayed through a flower stencil and outlined the flowers with black and white pens and added the journalling.

Behold ...

I created the background of this page with spray inks and gesso and then added the packing tape transfers, two of my own photos of mosaics in Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (apologies for the reflection). I then added the circles and words.

Mosaic of backgrounds

These are all backgrounds that I have created at one time or another and I suddenly had the idea that they might look good together.
