Theme Thursday - girls

Theme Thursday have given the theme of 'girls' this week. I couldn't resist using the photo from Terri Kahrs, as I think it is just so lovely!

London collage

Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on a collage on the theme of London. It has been through many changes as different layers have been added. The images come from magazines and pamphlets, glued on with matte medium. The colour comes from layers of acrylic paint.

I have had a lot of difficulty photographing this and the image below is actually darker than real life.

Cupid

It's St Valentine's day and so, naturally, the challenge from Sunday Postcard Art this week is 'cupid'. Here is my digital offering. All the elements are from Ruby Rynne and Tangie Baxter at Scrapbook Graphics.

Itinerary 7

Here are my journal pages for this week. The theme from AJC is about sharing, with the challenge to try a new technique. Whilst I was at Tate Modern last week I found a postcard with journalling on it. The author had written over the photo, but leaving the main image free. So this is what I decided to do as my new technique; not very original, but new for me!

This is my digital piece. Elements courtesy of StudioTangie and Birgit Kerr, both of Scrapbook Graphics. Double click on the heart to read the quote.

ACF 61

ACF provided a sepia photo of a little girl with wings. I altered the colour and then made this digital collage.

All those who know me will know that I hate sewing. For me, digital graphics is a way of achieving a hand sewn look without the pain!! All the elements are from the wonderful Bohemian Rhapsody set by Ztampf (Scrapbook Graphics).

Postage stamps - please write

The Three Muses' theme this week is postage stamps.

I started off with a black and white image of the woman and then changed her dress into material made from postage stamps. I lightly coloured the rest of her and then set her upon the script background, adding the air mail label and envelope frame. It seemed to me that she was waving goodbye to someone, hence the words 'please write'.

Itinerary 6 - bliss!

The journalling theme from Art Journal Caravan this week is bliss, not something I've ever given much thought to! Anyway, here are my mixed media and digital reflections on it.

Cats

The Theme at Sunday Postcard Art today is cats. I decided to alter the digital collage that I created in January (See here.) and give it a slightly different angle.

ACF 60

Art Creations Friday provided the photo of this little girl (at least, I assume it's a little girl but, thinking about it, it just could be a boy) for their challenge this week.

This is what I created from it.

Pink & black

I'm not entirely sure what steam punk is, but I decided to give it a go anyway! It probably doesn't  normally include the colour pink, but as pink and black is the challenge at Theme Thursday .....
