Jackie I prefer to show my whole design...sometimes if my page has 'curled' a little in one corner I will square it off but like to show it's still a journal...think one time I did as your second picture.x{aNNie My Personal Blog}

actually to me it makes not really a difference which way the page is shown...

I prefer the whole page, it's more like a journal one. The second one may be a card, too. Do you know what I mean?
