Remembrance

An apt theme from Sunday Postcard Art this week. This is the piece I created.

Fabric wall hanging

This is one of my first projects using my sewing machine. I sewed several layers of various materials, including different coloured felts, some black lace and some patterned cotton. On top of these I sewed a piece of paper that I had stained slightly with tea and a printed transparency. I then attached this to a large, painted cardboard tag. Simple and yet quite effective!

Itinerary 45

The prompts from Art Journal Caravan this week, and I can't believe we are on week 45 already, are about 'practice'.

I created my mixed media page by scraping three different colours of acrylic paint over the page. I added the Tim Holtz tape to the resulting background, and then stamped and wrote on it, finally adding the flowers as an embellishment.

I created my digital page from the elements supplied by AJC for this week.

Art Creations Friday 95

World pneumonia day

Here is a blue postcard I made to support World Pneumonia Day on November 12th, the premise being that pneumonia is the leading killer in young children in the developing world. Everyday, 3,000 children die as a result of pneumonia...everyday!

My Handbook

I made this mini-book for a competition at UK Art Stampers, a group I belong to.
I drew around my left hand to make a stencil and then drew around it onto some Anna Griffin double-sided card and cut out six hands. I decorated them using Tim Holtz stamps and various stickers. I attached sari-waste to the binding rings and added the Grungepaper flower, that I had stuck text over and coloured, as the final touch.

Turquoise & orange ATCs

Theme Thursday want us to show off our favourite colour combinations. Orange and turquoise is one of mine and I made four ATCs using it. They all started with a collaged background that I then painted using acrylic and metallic paints. I then stapled a transparency over the top and coloured the staples gold.
 

Watch the birdie!

ACF gave us a picture of a child on a bench to play with this week. Here is how mine ended up.

Ballet

The theme from The Three Muses this week is 'show time'. This prompted a memory from I was small, when I saw Margot Fonteyn dance. So this is my piece for this week, a scrapbook page.

Shabby chic

Simon Says Stamp and Show wanted us to make something shabby this week. This conjures up a picture of something pale blue and pale brown to me, so out came the corrugated cardboard, my acrylic paints, the Tim Holtz stamps, some metal embellishhments and, last but not least, lots of paper flowers.
