Faces

I realised I hadn't drawn any faces recently so I got my journal out, found a page that already had paint laid down and drew one really quickly .... (I did actually miss my hair appointment, about which I felt terrible but, fortunately, I am now back on good terms with my hairdresser!).

Watercolour

This week Wanderlust is starting a series about watercolours. The first lesson was about the different types of water colour paints.

I haven't used them before so decided to have a go. Here are the results, rather rudimentary but I have to start somewhere:

Wanderlust

Following the theme of texture, the guest artist at Wanderlust last week was Finnabair. I created a small canvas using her tutorial.

Here is the canvas after it has been painted and all the elements added. Apologies for the blurry photo - I didn't realise until I had painted over the canvas!

Here it is after all the layers of paint. What a difference! As I have done one of her classes before, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and go with a purple and orange colour scheme, rather than my normal green & blue. I rather like it!

Wanderlust Journal Page

Last week's Wanderlust was all about texture and the journal prompt was 'What I am most grateful for'. Here are my pages.

Wanderlust

The Wanderlust project last week was to paint an abstract landscape using a textured background. This is the photo I started with; a picture of Corfe Castle.

First I added some collage to my canvas and, having sketched on my picture, then added modelling paste to give texture. Then came layers of inks, paints and water-soluble oil pastels.

The idea was not to end up with an exact copy, but rather a representation of the picture. Here is my finished picture.

Using Brushos -2

Another card, very different to the last, using Brushos and Carabelle stamps. Apologies for the shine, the card is pearlised.

I made this card with Brushos and a Carabelle stamp, all ready for an appropriate sentiment to be attached.
