To create this page, I first painted random blocks of acrylic paint onto my page. I then went over them with a wash of Titanium Buff paint to blend them a little.  I used inks to draw the two large circles and added water to them to encourage them to run.To finish I added various markings and some Washi tape to embellish.

Week three of Wanderlust was about composition. I think perhaps I should have swapped my spirals around, but I quite like it for the first attempt at a composition that is unusual for me.

The guest artist for week 2 of Wanderlust was Kate Crane. I had fun replicating some of her techniques in my journal. Here are the two pages I created.

This year, I decided not to join the Documented Life Project as, although I've thoroughly enjoyed over the past two years, I felt I needed a change. So instead, needing some source of learning and inspiration I have joined Wanderlust by Everything Art. This is my journal spread from the first week.

My Documented Life - weeks 51 & 52

The challenge for the penultimate week was 'hidden journalling'. My journalling is very hidden, as I created a spread with journalling as its base, but then really hated the pages! So I added tracing  paper on top of the pages, so that my background only peeked through. I added the paint drips and the tags as focal points.

The challenge for the last week of My Documented Life was storytelling. I wrote about the past year and then covered it with paint, collage and stamping.

I feel I somewhat lost my mojo for the last two weeks of the project, but was glad I managed to actually complete it. Now, I look forward to a new year of creativity.

Happy New Year!

May 2016 be an art-filled year. Happy creating!

Here's a journal page I made a while back, using Traci Bautista techniques in the background.
