Egypt

Yesterday, I returned home after an amazing holiday in Egypt. There is just so much to see. We saw, amongst other things, Tutankhamun's tomb, his richly decorated death masks and many other artefact's found in his tomb; the pyramids at Giza and other less well known ones; several temples with hieroglyphics and ornate decorations, some with paint still intact after 4000 years. I rode on a camel and sailed in a felucca.

The Egyptians are very optimistic about the future and we saw no signs of trouble. In fact, it was an ideal time to visit as there were fewer tourists around than usual and so we had wonderful views and no queueing! This has an impact on the Egyptians, though, as there are less people around to spend their money. If you have been put off travelling to Egypt by the recent revolution, don't be. It was wonderful!
