Did you think I had finished with my wallet? Well , almost, but I made some affirmation cards to go into the pocket.

The big reveal. This is what I have been making, a large, pocketed, clutch style journal.

The first picture shows the front of the wallet. When closed it measures 13 x 7.5 inches.

And the back.

Now for the inside. Once opened there is a pocket, as well as the pages of the journal.

The pocket folds outwards, so it can be reached when the pages are open.

Here is the next stage of the project : roughly adding ink to both sides of 5 sheets of watercolour paper and the blank side of the collaged canvases. Here are five of them to look at.

Over the next few days I will show the various stages the canvases go through. I won't go onto all the details or show all the layers though, as I don't want to give away all the details of Roben-Marie's class.

Collage and Construct

 I've recently started taking one of Roben-Marie Smith's classes, 'Collage, Construct and Affirm'. I'm really enjoying it and am learning new things.

The first part of the course, obviously, is collage but it is doing it on canvas paper. I have to admit I hadn't heard of this before, but it's like canvas sheets that come in a pad.

Here is my collage (it looks a bit boring, but this is only the first layer). Although the pictures look the same size, the first two sheets are 20 x 16 inches and the third, 16 x 12 inches.

These pictures were taken before the glue was dry and so there are still some bubbles apparent. I didn't succeed in getting rid of all of them, but it is good to remove as many as possible.
