Everything is possible

A 5-minute page in my flimsy journal, using stickers, collage, acrylic paint and gesso. Perhaps not much to look at, but very therapeutic creating it!

Here are six mini collages that I created using gesso, acrylic paints and inks, tissue paper and stamping.

Felting

Having created some felting pictures using kits, I decided to have a go creating my own picture, a mountain scene. It is not quite how I pictured it, but as a first attempt I am not dissatisfied with it. Practise makes perfect!

Highland Cattle

I've been doing some more felting, using another Artfelt kit. It's not perfect, but I'm quite pleased with it.

Found!

I haven't disappeared, I just got distracted by my garden and family tree!

Here's a page from my flimsy journal - I used acrylic paints & pens, collage and rub-ons, and pencils for the drawing.

Puffins

During lock-down, my sister had a week's holiday. To try to make it special for her we decided to try a new project and so we both bought a felting kit (from Artfelt by Andrea Coleman) to do together virtually. I had tried needle felting before but not wet felting and I really enjoyed making this. It's about 45 x 25 cms.

Windows

During lock-down, instead of visiting galleries I have been visiting online exhibitions. It's not the same, but it does provide a window into art.

Here is a page from my flimsy art journal.

After the Storm

This is another picture using soft pastels. I had a little help this time as I followed a project in Jeremy Ford's book, 'Painting Pastel Landscapes'. I am very pleased with the result. I can imagine walking along that path in the fells...

Mountains

I've been playing with soft pastels... I've only used them in mixed media work before, so I thought I would try painting a picture with them. I'm not altogether happy with the picture, but I'm pleased with it as a first attempt using pastels.

Doodles

This page was created using oil pastels on an acrylic paint background. Essentially, I was just doodling with the pastels and this is what I ended up with.

Backgrounds

I've been having fun creating backgrounds and papers for collage material using India Ink, crayons and acrylic inks.

Experimenting

What is an art journal for, if not for experimenting? I thought I would try out a colour combination that I wouldn't normally use. Add a bit of mark-making with a brush, and a Stabilo All pencil and this is what I got.
