Florals

I have recently started undertaking Traci Bautista's Floral Designs course, a birthday and Christmas present from my husband, and I am really enjoying it.

Here are some preliminary floral sketches using a variety of pens and techniques. Apologies that the pictures are that great - I used green paper to draw on!

Digital Scrapbooking

This is a picture of me when I was about 12 made into a simple digital scrapbook page.

Ten Green Bottles ...

Well, gold and silver, actually!

These are two more pieces I made with Brusho backgrounds, and then stamping and embossing the images on top. I might use these for cards.

More Brusho Backgrounds

This time, after I had created my Brusho background, I stamped on an image and then coloured the image using Brushos.

Brushos

Three more pieces using Brushos and matte medium for the backgrounds. I love the grain effect this creates.

Brushos

I created the backgrounds for these pieces by using Brushos and matte medium. Once dry I stamped on them and embossed the stamped image. They might be quite good to use for cards, particularly for men. What do you think?

Life is Meant to be Lived

A journal page after messing around with paints. It probably isn't finished, so I may come back to it, but it's done for now!!

Pentecost

I know Pentecost is usually in May, but I realised that I hadn't posted a picture of this canvas and it's been on a wall for a while now. So here it is!

Paint Pouring

I forgot to post this before. I created this piece using the remnants of paint left in my pots after I created the little canvases.

Stars

I recently acquired some of Dina Wakley's collage papers. Here is a journal page using stars and one of the faces, or to be precise half of one of the faces!

It will be OK

I created this digital piece using an Artified Template by Captivated Visions.

Layers

I shall probably use these pieces as card toppers. The backgrounds were created by brayering on layers of paint and then using stamps and stencils. The focal pictures and sentiments were created in a similar way in contrasting colours.

Paint Pouring

Paint pouring seems to be in fashion at the moment. I've poured Pebeo paints before but I've never tried it with using acrylic paints and pouring medium. So a friend and I decided to have a go. Here are my small canvases. I used three parts medium to one part paint (approximately).

Here I just poured the paint and just kept tilting the canvas until I was happy.

For the second canvas I added more paint, so it was thicker, and played with the paint using a stick.

For the third canvas I used an old fork to create the edges and a little marbling.

Wheat Field

This page started out as just experimenting with Distress Oxide inks stamped onto an acrylic background, but I love how it turned out.

August

August seems a long time ago now, but at least I've had a chance to dabble in my art journal. I actually retired at the beginning of August, hence the 'home together' tabs, but somehow I find that I'm still working, so I'm not sure how that works!!

Salvaged Journal

Oh dear, this week seems to have slipped by very quickly!
I have created a few more pages in my Salvaged Journal though, so here they are.

Tags

Here are a couple more tags that I created using Distress Oxide Inks. I like the fact that you can smudge the ink whilst still keeping the image.
