Colour, Layers and Patterns

This week, Birgit Koopsen was the guest artist at Wanderlust. Her journal page was all about colour, layers, patterns and details.

My background has lots of layers of paint, stencilling and stamps.

I then added the image and stamped on some flowers. I then painted around the image and flowers and added further detail to the flowers and background. It was hard covering so much of the background, but I like the end result!

Painty Pages!

I am really enjoying watching Kasia, at Wanderlust, creating her journal pages. Here are two of mine, using her video as inspiration.

Paint!

This week at Wanderlust it was about using acrylic paint and incorporating a photo into one's work. Here is my journal page. There are quite a few layers of paint here, plus some collage.

Abstract backgrounds

It can be fun playing with paint and as a bonus I ended up with some fun backgrounds I can use on cards or in my art journalling.

Connections

It's week 14 of Wanderlust already! This week the guest artist was Mystele and she provided the inspiration for a piece, based on a loose grid, about connections. It is A3 in size; Mystele's was much bigger, but I didn't have a larger substrate.

Journal, Journal

As you have probably noticed. I do a lot of my art in my journals. As well as being easy to keep, they provide a record of how one's art changes and progresses.
