Easter Decorations

These are some plastic eggs I decorated with alcohol inks.

And a cross I decorated for an exhibition (it was difficult to photograph, so apologies for the shine).

Happy Easter!

I hope you have a good weekend.

This is a canvas I painted on the theme of resurrection.

Intuitive Painting

Flora Bowley was the guest artist as Wanderlust this week. The key points were to follow your own instinct, have fun, make lots of marks and keep adding the layers. This was all completely new to me, and I'm not sure I like my end product but it was fun.

Here is the point where I thought my canvas could finished, but I really didn't like it.

So, I carried on with more layers until it looked like this.

Still not sure I like it that much, but I can live with it now! I realised I started to paint patterns, rather than just mark-making. So next time, I will to try to be more random ...

Acrylic Paints

The lesson this week on Wanderlust was about acrylic paints. I followed Kasia's example and made a mini-book, a sampler of mark-making with acrylic paints.

Here it is all tied up.

And opened up.

A Wanderlust project

Karen Michel was a guest artist on Wanderlust and encouraged us to make a book. I haven't finished mine, but here are some pictures of the work in progress.

First the cover (more to be added).

Now some of the pages. I used various papers and pieces of my own art ...

... carrier bags from my holiday in New York ....

... scraps of paper floating around in my collage stash ...

... torn pages from magazines ...

... basically, anything I could lay, my hands on!

Hope you like it.

Both of these pages were created from left-over paint and other scraps in my stash.

Dreams

Life has been rather busy lately, so I wasn't able to join '29 Faces' this year, but don't let it be said that I have given up drawing them. I wonder what she is dreaming about ...

Joker

I haven't created a jester / joker page for a while, so I thought it was about time I did!

The background is a mixture of acrylic paints with the circles drawn on in ink. I coloured the playing card using water-soluble oil pastels.
