My Documented Life - week 43

The challenge this week was to use glassine paper. Jeanette House was the guest artist and I took her pages as my inspiration. I didn't have any clear glassine paper so I used tracing paper instead. I did however have some brown glassine paper, so I crumpled it and coloured it with spray inks, tore it up and added the pieces to the left-hand page.

Playing with Inks!

Although I use my inks quite a lot, I tend to just drip them down pages. So I thought it was time to experiment. This time, I used the droppers to create patterns, spirals, on the page. it was great to see how the inks interacted when they over lapped. I nearly applied some more layers, but decided to resist the temptation on this occasion and just added the words.

My Documented Life - week 42

The challenge for this week was to use vellum. I found this one hard! I decorated some vellum using a stencil. I then created the background - a layer of green acrylic paint under a layer of purple. Once it was dry, I stuck on the vellum and added other elements and marks. It reminds me of toothpaste. Not quite what I intended ....

My Documented Life - week 41

The challenge for this week was to use tissue paper and Dina Wakley was the guest artist. I used her layout as inspiration for mine. I painted and stamped onto tissue paper. Some of this I then glued onto my pages. The rest I used to collage onto drawings on tracing paper. After painting the backgrounds and scribbling over them, I stuck these drawings onto my pages so that they can be flicked upwards to reveal the pages underneath. The quote reads 'The secret of change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new' (Socrates).

My Documented Life - weeks 39 and 40

The challenge for week 39 was to create a storyboard. Well that was easy - I told the story of my trip to New York.


Week 40 started a new month, with a new overall theme of translucent papers. This week the challenge was to use deli paper. here is how my spread ended up. I go from loving it to hating it. What do you think?
