Birthday cards

I recently acquired a round Gelli plate. Having taken a print, I cut the circle into quarters. I then made these cards using two of the quarters (I haven't used the other two yet!) and some stamping. I prefer the top one. What about you?

Green leaves - a canvas

For Christmas, my husband gave me a table-top easel and some canvases. This is my first piece using them. It is 20 x 16 inches and is now hanging proudly in our hall on the stairs. It does have one addition, however, as I added some writing running down the leaves on the right-hand side. I couldn't resist!

Attitude is Everything!

This page started with old book papers collaged onto the background, followed by several layers of paint and gesso scraped over them. I then sprayed some ink through a stencil and, once dry, added the woman and the words.

My Documented Life - week 2

This week the prompt was to use gesso. I used this as the first layer on my page. It helps to create some interesting effects with paint and stencils.

My Documented Life 2015 - week 1

I thoroughly enjoyed the Documented Life Project (DLP) last year and am looking forward to continuing with it this year. This year, however, it is a bit different as it is focused more on art journalling rather than the planner element. I will not be including any planning/diary element this year. I will, however, be creating two pages each week as the Dylusions journal I am using, as recommended by the DLP team, is much bigger than last year.

The prompt for week one was to use some book paper and the theme was about goals.

Live, laugh, love - a tag

I made this tag from a scrap piece of card. I added some acrylic paint through a stencil. There was already some scrapings of modelling paste on the card. Once dry, I glued on the Printed Tim Holtz tissue paper. To finish, I edged the tag with brown ink, added the words and the string bow.

The girl with the green face

I have to say, I rather like this weirdly painted girl. She has the look of a pixie to me .....

Another Finnabair Canvas (repeat)

Apologies to those of you that have already seen this canvas. My post inadvertently slipped in with another post on 2nd January. So I thought it was worth showing the canvas again!

Finnabair style canvas

Having attended the workshop led by Finnabair, I decided to have a go at another canvas, but this time one with no photo. So, I used an old paint brush as my focal point.

Two art journal pages

Here are two journal pages using hearts. Sorry for the glare in the photos. This is due to the silver and gold, and metallic paint I used!

My Documented Life - weeks 52 & 53

The prompt for week 52 was to write about a family tradition. As it was Christmas week I used lots of gold paint. Hope you can see past the shine!

As there was a bit of a week left over, the Art to the 5th girls gave an extra prompt, to decorate the page with something that begins with the first letter of your name.

I really enjoyed creating this journal and am planning to continue for this new year.
Here is the finished article.

The New Year

Essentially, this is a journal page made from scraps and paint left over from other projects. I quite like it though, as it gives a sense of  movement and space.

My Documented Life - weeks 50 & 51

Week 50 was about a fantasy holiday place. I chose the Alhambra & Generalife - the fantasy would be to have it all to myself!!

The prompt for week 51 was to use arrows on the page.

Another Finnabair style canvas

I really enjoyed making the previous two canvases, so I decided to create another, but this time in different colours. So you get an idea of the size, the spoon is a dessert spoon. What do you think?
