Today, why not have a look at some of the craft projects I have. They are on a separate page (see the post below if you're not sure how to find them).

My first art journal

I am taking a break for a few days, but I don't want to leave you without anything to look at so, in case you haven't discovered them already, I am going to direct you to my other pages. If you look between the 'welcome to my blog' and 'I love comments' boxes on the left-hand side under my 'thank you' you will see a list of various pieces of my art/craft projects. May I suggest today you look at my first art journal. When you want to come out of it just click on 'Home' at the top of the list.

The pages do not allow you to leave comments, but if you feel you would like to just leave them on this post instead.

Dreams

Do you ever have strange dreams? Fortunately, I only have them occasionally. I don't mind when they are pleasant and colourful ...

Bookmark

This is a book mark I made for myself. I cut a strip from one of the spray paint backgrounds I made a while ago (see my post on 7th June 2012). I then cut the strip in two and added stamps and pen marks to each piece. Then I glued them together to create a front and a back. I love how the two sides are so very different!

If you are neutral ...

... in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality (Desmond TuTu).

More grungy flowers ...

Olympics journal page

Although the background does not feature any Olympic images, I hope the bright colours and vibrancy give a sense of the happy experience we had at the Olympic Park. We were fortunate enough to see Rebecca Adlington gain her bronze medal,  and Michael Phelps another gold in his penultimate Olympic race.

Happiness

I decided to have another go at creating grungy flowers and this is the end project. In case you can't tell, this piece is digital.

Birthday card

It was my sister's birthday recently and this is the card I made for her. I used one of the background I made a while ago (see my post on 8th June).

More watery inks

I created the background for this page using the background I showed yesterday. While it was still (very) wet I closed my journal and pressed to create a mirror image. (Have some paper towels handy if you do this as the ink will seep out of the journal.) I just added a little spray of ink to complete it and then drew the figure and added the stamp (Tim Holtz).

Doodling

I made this page by first spraying it with lots of water. I then dropped several drops of Distress Ink (from Re-inkers) in various colours onto the page. After this I sprayed with more water until the inks started to run. I held the page at different angles to create movement. I added the flower doodles once it was all dry, along with the stamp (Dylusions).
