Shine

The background of this page was created with Dylusions sprays and stencils. I added some randome background stamps and then stamped on the bluebells (Paper Artsy). I coloured them with Pan Pastels, which I fixed with hairspray. The stamp (Dylusions), which didn't come out very well as I had some old texture paste on the page, says 'If you don't shine you are just dull. Choose to shine'.

Do I like this tag?

I made this tag a while ago and I still can't make up my mind whether I like it or not! What do you think?

Thursday, 28 June 2012

Very occasionally, I create a page I absolutely hate and whatever I do to it makes it even worse. This is what happened to this one. It's been sitting there in my journal and every time I see it it grates on me.

Enough is enough! Out came the gesso - it had to change - and this is what it turned into. I like it now and the relics of the old background add substance to the new one.

Soul food

No flowers in this one but quite a few hearts, which is unusual for me! I am quite pleased with how this digital collage turned out, though.

Weeds are flowers too

I seem to be in flowery mode at the moment, but this piece is rather different to the one I posted yesterday. Hope you like it.

Grunge flowers

I wanted to create a grungy, flowery digital piece. I played for quite a long time to create this. It isn't quite how I imagined it, but it's growing on me!

Do you ever have bad days?

Well, I guess we all do. Hopefully they don't feel as bad as this!

An old watch

Having decorated my Tim Holtz watch case I remembered that a while ago I bought a packet of genuine old watch parts, consisting of a watch back and various cogs. So I had another play and created this.

Life and posts!

I realised that this would be my 1000th post! So I thought something a little different might be in order. I went a bit mad recently and bought this Tim Holtz clock case. I wouldn't usually buy gimicky stuff like this but it took my fancy! So I decided this would be the 1000th project that I would post. So I played around with it and this is how it ended up.  Hope you like it.

Fathers' Day

It was Fathers' Day here in the UK yesterday and this was the card I made my Dad. I stamped and colour the image and then laid it onto of the torn layers of vellum. I edged the scalloped side of the card with blue pen and added the little stones for a bit more pizazz!

Two London Tags

I coloured the background of these tags slightly using Antique Linen and Weathered Wood Distress Stains. Once dry, I added the Big Ben and street names (all Paper Artsy stamps) and then added some Worn Lipstick Distress ink around the edges using my blending tool. I stamped the bus and taxi onto white card, cut them out and added a little more colour using my water brush and Distress Ink pads.

Up up and away

I used Distress Re-inkers to make the background of this tag. I put one drop of Broken China and Peacock Feathers onto my craft mat and added lots of water. I also added a splosh of Picket Fence Distress Stain. I then rubbed my tag into the inks and dried it. I repeated this several times to build up the layers. I then splashed it with water to add extra texture. Lastly, I stamped the image of Big Ben (Paper Artsy) onto the Tag.

I stamped the balloon (Indigo Blu) three times onto the brown card and cut out different sized pieces and stuck them together with foam pads to give a dimensional look. Having stuck it on the tag I added the little page tab and the words.

Who am I?

The face in the centre of this page is actually a drawing by Rebecca McMeen that I printed in black and white and then painted and drew over. The used washes of acrylic paint so that the some of the details would still be visible. I then stamped the various scripts around the edges.

A journal page

I created this page by first colouring it with Pan Pastels and then adding some Portfolio Pastels around the edges. I sprayed it with (cheap) hairspray to fix. I stamped the Dina Wakley images onto scrap brown paper, which had previously been splattered with paint, and then stuck them onto the page. I added the hearts (left overs from an earlier piece) and the doodles and journalling to finish.

The wettest drought ever

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here in the south east of England it is raining cats and dogs and yet we still have a hose pipe ban!

Backgrounds

I took the opportunity one of these sunny afternoons to go outside and make some backgrounds with my cans of spray paint and stencils. These are the first two I ended up with.

Slightly Askew

I guess we all feel slightly askew sometimes! Well, recently, I have been having a lot of tooth problems, which has definitely knocked me off centre. Fortunately, I am returning to normal now.
