Chronicles of imperfection
Do you remember the papers I decorated a while ago? Well, I decided to us some of them to make a little book, 'Chronicles of imperfection'.
The pages were made from the papers and edged with Tim Holtz tape. The embellishments were made from brown paper that I had used as scrap to mop up any extra inks whilst spraying projects, stamping on it and tearing them out. The stamps are by Lynne Perella, from Paper Artsy.
I shall reveal one spread each day over the next few days.
Here is the cover. You will have seen the flowers in a previous post.

I went with the flow ...
... and this is what I ended up with, so don't read anything into it; it's just fun!

A new beginning
This page was created using stencils, spray inks, acrylic paint, stamping. The houses were cut from Kraft Resist paper, painted and stuck onto the page.

Embracing imperfection
I was playing with acrylic paint and stencils and ended up with this journal page. I really like it. What do you think?

Three tags
I made this tags by staining it with Distress Stains, stamping on the script and numbers and adding the Tissue Tape. Having stamped and cut out the Lynne Perella stamp, I coloured it by painting on water-soluble oil pastels with a water brush.
For the next two tags, I made the background by applying a layer of gesso and then covering it with different colours of acrylic paint. I then applied a stencil over them and dabbed off the paint with a baby white.

More Creative Chemistry
Having finished Tim Holtz's course I decided to have another play. I made these two tags in the same way, staining Kraft Resist paper, except the one on the left has a layer of Picket Fence Distress Stain as the first layer. You can see the subtle difference in that it is a little lighter in colour.

Flowers made from glassine paper and Perfect Pearls
These flowers are very simple to make and look so pretty.
I die cut the flower shapes and then screwed each paper up. Once flattened, I dusted on Perfect Pearls and heated them to 'set' them. I fastened them together using a brad. Voila!

Paper backgrounds
I enjoyed making these. I started off with 12 x12 inch sheets of patterned paper and sprayed Dylusions Inks through various stencils. A simple technique, but very effective! I then cut all the sheets into four ready for the next project.

A skinny card
The challenge from Take a Word this week is to make a Skinny card, 3
inches x 5 inches (or 7.62 x 12.70 centimetres). We are allowed to choose our
own theme and create it in our own style, as long as we use some
newsprint or similar in the background.
