Am I ready?
The background of this page was coloured with Distress Stains. I then stuck on the various elements and borders by Crowabout (@ Deviant Scrap). Lastly, I added the journalling.

Just unique
Here is a journal page I created yesterday. I used Distress Stains to create the background. The dark areas are decorated glassine paper. I added some stamping in the two exposed corners and used various pens for the journalling and other decorative elements.

Christmas tags
These tags started out as two sheets of watercolour paper that I sprayed with paint and Glimmer Mists. I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark and rubbed Pan Pastels over them. I then die cut the paper into tags and added the decorations.

Learn to grow
I had fun with this journal page; make of it what you will!
The background is soft pastels. I stuck on the two men and coloured them, and then added the stars - spray paint through a stencil. Lastly came the clapperboard and words. I sprayed the picture with a fixative and then outlined all the elements.

At last ....
... I have had time to play in my journal and this what happened:
The page started with some Glimmer Mist and stencils and then I collage on a few bit of scrap paper. Then came the picture followed by the stamping. To finish it off I used some Inka Gold in copper and green.

Ocean
Writing an essay is a painful process, for me at least, and sometimes it can feel that I am near drowning. Today, however, it finally feels as though it is taking shape. I may not have my head above water yet, but I am at least swimming!

Unexpressed hope
I am not getting much time to delve into my art art and craft stash and create at the moment, as I have an assignment deadline looming. So, at the moment, any creating I do has to be digital. Here's my latest piece:

You've been framed
That's the challenge from Sunday Postcard Art this week and this is my digital contribution.
Credits: all elements from T Baxter & J Kneipp's 'Creative Felicity' kit @ SBG
The quote in the background, by Thomas A. Buckner, reads, “To bring one's self to a frame of mind and to the proper energy to accomplish things that require plain hard work continuously is the one big battle that everyone has. When this battle is won for all time, then everything is easy.” I think I need to remember this when I'm trying to study!

Those were the days
I created this journal page by first painting a layer of green acrylic paint as the background. I then stuck on the picture of the lady's face and applied some stencilling in various colours around it. I masked the face and sprayed on black paint. For the final stage, I added some extra colour using oil pastels. I used a white gel pen to add the words.

Adversity
The weather is changing and becoming greyer and more unsettled, and so this was the inspiration for this digital piece. (Click on the picture to see it properly.)

Studying - a journal page
I am currently studying for a post-graduate certificate and sometimes I find trying to study quite frustrating, particularly if the ideas aren't forming in my head. I let out some of my frustrations on this journal page! You can probably tell that I am developing my illegible writing. Fortunately, I have type my university assignments!

... and so it is appropriate that the theme at Sunday Postcard Art this week is poppies. This is my digital postcard.

Two more journal pages inspired by Dina Wakley
Dina taught us to make use of complementary colours (blue and orange in this case), and white space. I have also tried to make my hand writing freer. It's not quite illegible yet, but it's getting there! Dina deliberately uses this as a technique so that others cannot read what she has written.

Birds - inspired by Dina Wakley
When I attended the class at LB Crafts with Dina Wakley she was kind enough to show us some of the journals she had completed. It was fabulous to see them in real life and I was particularly taken by one she had done featuring birds, so I thought I would try my own version. Here it is!

Bonfire night
I created this page by applying dark purple acrylic paint as the background and then, once dry, loading cocktail sticks with paint and dragging them across the page.

Exuberant tag 1
I used the images I created with the Lynne Perrella stamps to make some tags. here is the first one. The background is stripes of water-soluble pastels overlaid with acrylic paint applied through a stencil.

Lynne Perrella stamps
Paper Artsy have released some new stamps designed by Lynne Perrella. Now I have had a chance to play with mine I am really pleased with them. I used ultra smooth card (a tip I learned from Dina Wakley) and stamped on it with black StazOn ink. They looked like they had been printed! I then coloured them; some with water-soluble oil pastels and some with ProMarkers. Little pieces of exuberance!

Halloween journal page
I actually created this page last year, but wasn't quick enough to post it on my blog, so here it is now! The stamps are by Stampotique.
