New life plaque

While I was at the classes with Dina Wakley earlier in the year I started decorating a tile that I didn't have time to finish. I didn't like it very much and so decided to use it as the background for another piece. I added some more paint to the tile and then collaged on the butterflies (from Tim Holtz tissue paper). I then stamped on some script using light brown ink. I  then painted the heart a dark turquoise - the same colour as the base of the tile. Once dry I applied crackle glaze and then a layer of the sandy colour - the same colour as the top layer of the tile. As the paint dried it crackled. I then painted the little chipboard flowers and butterflies and attached them, with the letters and keys, to the plaque. Done! I just have to decide where to hang it now.

A summery tag

I used Jo Firth Young's stamps from PaperArtsy to make this tag. I coloured the flowers using ProMarkers.

Life doesn't have to be perfect

This journal page is the wonderful culmination of lots of layers of acrylic paint, with more paint then added through a stencil, scraps of paper collaged on top and pieces of chipboard added. Hope you like it!
